So today was spent with an external consultant doing the upgrade to the backup system in work. I had to be present as the normal guy has been signed off sick for two weeks, great timing as always. It was fairly interesting but because I've been so busy with my normal workload it was quite difficult to keep up with all the stuff that's been going on with the upgrade. Also management haven't seen fit to send us on any training on this new version, despite there being many changes including a totally different database. Oh well.
Not much else. Really tired this evening again, no idea why. Walked the dog, did some more work on the laptops. Got three up and running with hard drives and installed Ubuntu on them with reasonable success. Have ordered a load of sticky feet to put on the ones that are missing them.
Played with the HTC Magic phone tonight. Enabled data on it which was a mistake as it promptly blew a quid trying to sync over it, ouch. However at least it's there if I need it now. Vodafone actually have a PAYG plan with free data and texts if you top up a certain amount each month, might look into that.
