A long day

It was a long day today. First it was off to Macclesfield to pick up the road bike. It's nothing special, a Halfords thingy called the Carrera TDF but they get good write ups and it was cheap due to being rather used. The drive down there was OK, made it without any problems although the journey back was delayed on the A55 for unknown reasons. Saw lots of people on road bikes between Knutsford and Macclesfield with numbers so there was clearly something going on.

Went back to my Dad's to watch the end of the Tour de France, which was pretty epic. The final section in Paris was bonkers and it felt like it could have gone either way, but Mark Cavendish absolutely blitzed that final sprint. Bradley Wiggins made it and became the first British person to ever win it, which is awesome. His speech was ace, I think people were expecting him to say more but he seemed rather overwhelmed. And he gets no rest, this evening he's on a plane back to the UK to train for the Olympics.

After that my Dad and I got the bike on a stand and sorted out some things. The gears and brakes needed tweaking, and we swapped out the bizarre pedals for some more sensible ones. The guy also threw in a Cateye bike computer which turned out to be rather a nice one, but since the bike is going to live on a trainer for a while no need to fit it yet. I think it could do with some new tyres before it hits the road though.

Feeling a bit tired and under the weather this evening, but not sure why. Was getting some pain in my mouth too as I think my wisdom teeth are playing up again so have downed some iboprofen and will take an early bedtime.
