Well, the 306 is a goner. The back axle is completely shot and if it was in really good nick, I'd get it done, but it's not. A local place quoted £350, which is about £300 more than the car is worth so it's going. I'm not in the mood for car hunting and it's not the ideal time financially either, bah. At this point I'm just after something that goes and has a decent MOT. One possibility is a local Subaru Forester for sale. Not too big, but with good ground clearance and 4x4 and lots of people giving them good marks for reliability - the only downer is the 2.0 litre petrol engine. Oh well.
